We are so excited for a busy weekend in Downtown, especially Okra Jubilee! There is a parade happening Downtown tomorrow from 10am-12pm, but don't worry, you can still get to the market. To access the market, take 12th Street to Ohio and follow Ohio down to 8th! Come support these local vendors and grab yourself some okra! ...
End of summer...is anyone selling squash or zucchini blossoms/flowers? I recently moved from a bigger city, but haven't found them here yet. If you haven't considered selling them, please do! Very popular in bigger U.S. cities and Europe. They make the most delicate tasty fried goodness! I think with all the European spouses with Sheppard and/or those who have served in Europe would snap them up! Here is a recipe if you are considering selling them! I enjoy them simply lightly fried tempura style, but many people like them stuffed with cheese like a popper or fried more traditionally. www.jamesbeard.org/recipes/tempura-fried-squash-blossoms
